An interdisciplinary consideration of early American culture, combining the traditional approaches of literary, historical, environmental, and material-culture studies with the intertextual thrust of the new American studies. Draws extensively upon electronic resources on the Internet and upon the physical resources of New York City.
This course was developed with Professor Robert McCaughey, and is taught by him in alternate years.
