Chemistry BC3254y: Literature Reports
Periodically during the semester, you will select an article from the primary scientific literature that is relevant to a topic or topics recently covered in class and give an oral report to the class. A list of suggested articles is provided (first group below), but you are strongly encouraged to find a different article on your own (SciFinder recommended). These may be a recent article using concepts we have been studying, or a related article of historical interest. The work described may be experimental, theoretical, or both. One student per paper; first-come-first served.
Your report need not be a complete review of the paper. The focus should be some aspect of what the authors have done, how they did it, and how it relates to a topic or topics from class. If the article is not on the course web site, please save a copy in pdf format, so it is available for the class (send it to me by-e-mail, and I will post it, or e-mail it yourself and retrieve it in 805.) If you wish to prepare a few Powerpoint slides, that is fine, but is not required.
